Passion Project

24 February, 2010 (19:42) | Parenting | By: Michelle "Chaos Caretaker"

Our middle child, Caitlin “Creative Chaos”, has a Passion Project due for her alternative curriculum at school.  Let me say for the record that I believe a Passion Project is a fabulous idea.  The premise is that each student will take a subject that they are passionate about and do a project in the format of their choice presenting one aspect of their passionate subject.  Caitlin is in her second year of horseback riding lessons at Seven Oaks Equestrian Center.  The child’s room is decorated in horses.  She has us record Saddle Club  every time it is on.  We try to attend the Auburn University Equestrian Team events when they are local.  When asked what she wanted to do as the subject for her passion project, she wanted to sew.  Huh!?!

This was "Creative Chaos" and the first school horse she rode, Roanie.

Mom “Chaos Caretaker” not so subtly asked if she wouldn’t rather do a project revolving around horses.  In the end, Mom’s logic prevailed and the Chaos Theater was founded.  I love this child, ya’ll.  She still calls my voice mail and says, “Hey, Mom.  It’s me, Caitlin.”  Love, love, love.
